FINAL PROJECT: NEWSLETTER
A newsletter is the form of media we chose to best represent the collection of stories in Krik? Krak! The information surrounding Haiti in the news is minimal, and what is out there is primarily negative. It typically revolves around the devastating earthquake that happened in Haiti and the relief efforts being facilitated. While these things are important, they have completely changed the image of Haiti for the worst. This newsletter stands to bring life back to Haiti and represent the people there in a positive way. It's also a complex opportunity for students to be able to explore the themes present in the text, and choose the way they want to represent those ideas through words and images. Newsletters can really be formatted in any way, so it gives students a wide creative scope to work with while still requiring deep effort. It gives the students' work a purpose- they will have an audience and their words will not just be turned in as a paper. They can feel responsibility within this project and put their own voice into it.
